Scrubs is an American serial drama television comedy created in 2001 by Bill Lawrence and produced by ABC Studios. The series follows the lives of several employees of the Sacred Heart, a teaching hospital. It features fast-paced script, slapstick and surreal vignettes presented mostly as the daydreams of the central character, Dr. John "JD" Dorian, played by Zach Braff. The ninth season saw the transition from Braff starring Kerry Bish, who plays Lucy Bennett. The title of the show is a game of surgical gowns and a period for a person of low rank or negligible .
