Dean McDermott in Motorcycle Accident, Hospitalized with Punctured Lung

July 2nd, 2010

Dean McDermott is only famous because he’s married to Tori Spelling and the couple exploits its cute children on a nauseating, utterly contrived reality show. It’s rather disgusting.

Still, we wish no physical harm on McDermott, which is why we hope he recovers quickly from this week’s dirt bike accident. As of this writing, he’s in the intensive care unit of a California hospital with a punctured and collapsed lung.

“He’s in a lot of pain,” Spelling said, adding that her husband has finally concluded his adventurous hobby isn’t worth such consequences. “He’s taking this as a sign and realizing family is too important to risk his life.”

McDermott was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after crashing on Tuesday. He was bleeding severly at the scene, but was fortunately able to Tweet:

Thanks for the well wishes. A collapsed lung is no fun, and is a lengthy heal. Feeling pretty bad today. Day 2 is always the worst.

With Dean injured, we’ll refrain from asking the obvious question here: Who on earth is following Dean McDermott on Twitter?!?!?

Because Tori and her man had often argued about his dirt biking riding, she relayed the exchanged they shared soon after she arrived by his hospital bed:

“When I first saw him he just softly said ‘I’m so sorry.’” I just held his hand and cried. That’s when he said, ‘I’ll never do this again. You and the kids mean everything to me.’ “

The married pair has two kids: Liam 3; and Stella, 2.

Sister of Bret Michaels Confirms: Things are Looking Up

April 30th, 2010

It’s too soon to tell if Bret Michaels will truly be able to resume performing next month, as a message on his website teased this week.

But the good news continues to pour forth about ailing rocker.

“He’s doing good. He’s not by any means out of the woods, but he is getting better every day,” said sister Michelle Sychak in an interview with the Omaha-based “Todd N Tyler Radio Empire” radio show on Wednesday.

Michelle added that her brother’s speech was coming along.

“Things are definitely looking up… he sounded good - as good as you can when your brain’s throbbing,” she said. “He seems very coherent to me and like he knew what he was saying… [He] does sound like Bret. Truth be told, I think he’ll outlive us all.”

Sychak said Bret is stable, but remains in the intensive care unit. As always, we wish him the very best.

Bret Michaels Suffers a Setback, Doctors Remain Hopeful

April 28th, 2010

Bret Michaels has suffered a setback.

As the singer tries to recover from last week’s brain hemorrhage, he received some bad news in the intensive care unit today: Bret was diagnosed with hyponatremia, a side effect that is caused by a sodium deficiency. It can lead to seizures.

“Michaels remains under 24-hour observation in the ICU and is in positive spirits. He is responding well to tests and treatments,” his rep said in a statement. “Even though today was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery.”

Poison Singer

The rock star is conscious and in critical but stable condition. His father spoke to him this week and said his son sounds “a little slow, but fine.”

Meanwhile, Bret’s Celebrity Appreciate cast mates have wished him well, and we encourage THG readers to do the same.

Brooke Mueller Ordered to Undergo Therapy

January 26th, 2010

Still recovering from pneumonia, Brooke Mueller has been ordered to undergo stress reduction and psychological therapy sessions.

“The doctors told Brooke on Sunday that if she wants to get better she has to reduce stress and get a lot of R&R in the coming weeks,” an insider told People. “Her mom is checking out spas around the country now.”

Sounds like the best prescription we’ve ever heard of.

Mueller, Brooke

Mueller has pneumonia in both lungs, which makes it difficult for her to breathe. She’s still stuck in the intensive care unit of a Los Angles hospital, where she’s been receiving a dose of strong antibiotics for close to a week.

The doctors treating Brooke blame her slow recovery on the enormous stress in her life, a lot of which is a result of the Christmas Eve incident where she was allegedly beaten and threatened by Charlie Sheen.

“The doctors basically said Brooke is not going to get better without taking her health in her own hands and reducing the stress surrounding her life,” said the source. “She has to do it now.”

On February 8, Mueller and Sheen are due in court to see if a judge will lift an order of protection against the actor.
