Eric Johnson: Dating Jessica Simpson!

July 5th, 2010

Having officially cursed the Dallas Cowboys via her two-year relationship with quarterback Tony Romo, Jessica Simpson is moving on to the San Francisco 49ers.

A source close to the singer confirms that she’s dating former NFL tight end Eric Johnson, telling People the pair have been together for about a month and: “She is happy that she found a great guy. She’s really happy.”

Johnson last played professional football in 2007 and retired with nine career touchdown receptions. He’s a graduate of Yale University, causing many to wonder what the heck he talks about with Simpson.

Simpson isn’t the only large-breasted celebrity to nab herself a receiver this season. Kim Kardashian has been spotted out with Miles Austin, while Lindsay Lohan is reportedly dating Eilat Anschel.

She’s never played in the NFL, but is on the receiving end of a Lohan meltdown every night.

Celebrity Hair Showdown: Tom Brady vs. Justin Bieber

June 16th, 2010

Looks like Tom Brady has come down a severe case of Bieber Fever - and the only prescription is emulating the teen heart throb’s signature bangs. Or something.

Just as his wife, new mom Gisele Bundchen, made her comeback on the catwalk in Brazil, the NFL star made his own debut - a Justin Bieber-esque bowl cut.

The overgrown mop is a far cry from the slick, neat look usually sported by the shortly-coiffed Brady, but gotta give Brady credit for embracing the inevitable.

Justin Bieber consumes us all.

It’s hard to think of anyone but the “Baby”-faced singer when you look at the athlete. So we have to ask: Who do you think has the better hair? Vote below!

LT Rape Defense: Still Sex Offender Material

May 23rd, 2010

Even if you take NFL legend Lawrence Taylor at his word about merely masturbating in front of a 16-year-old girl and not having relations with her, that’s still shady.

It’s also still criminal behavior.

Taylor’s rape defense he could still mean ending up a registered sex offender.

Which makes sense. It’s not as if it absolves him of wrongdoing in the situation. After all, the former New York Giant is accused of patronizing an underage hooker.

If a jury does buy Lawrence’s expected argument, that he pleasured himself in front of the girl but did not have sex with her, he would qualify as a sex offender.

Sad LT

LT may be the football Hall of Fame’s first registered sex offender.

He could be forced to register as one, too. LT’s defense team is aware of this, and his lawyers are doing “everything possible to keep LT off the sex offender registry.”

Taylor was arrested and charged earlier this month for his encounter with the teenage prostitute in a New York State Holiday Inn. This is pretty sickening stuff.

Taylor says she said she was 19.

Lawrence Taylor Arrested in Rape Investigation

May 6th, 2010

Lawrence Taylor

NFL Hall of Famer and Dancing with the Stars alum Lawrence Taylor was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of rape involving a 16-year-old runaway.

The former New York Giants linebacker was placed under arrest at the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, N.Y. An arraignment is scheduled at 4/3c and formal charges will be filed upon the completion of the investigation, a spokesman for the Ramapo, N.Y., Police Department said.

Taylor’s attorney, Kenneth Gribetz, told The Associated Press that he is “confident” Taylor, 51, will be exonerated.

The Giants and NFL had no comment.

Taylor, who’s had multiple run-ins with the law, led the Giants to Super Bowl titles in 1987 and 1991. A 10-time Pro Bowler, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999.

He competed on Season 8 of Dancing with Edyta Sliwinska. They finished in seventh place.

Cartoon Network Announces Fall Lineup, Including Its First Awards Show

April 22nd, 2010

Andrew W.K., Destroy Build Destroy

Cartoon Network unveiled plans for a 25 new shows and many more returning programs targeted at young boys for next fall. Among the highlights announced Wednesday:

NEW

Hall of Game, the network’s first awards show to honor sports personalities, will feature a full red-carpet presentation also featuring celebrities from movies, music and television. It’s scheduled for early 2011.

The Looney Tunes Show is a 3-D reimagining of the classic ‘toon for the CGI-animation generation. A fully rendered sneak preview of the new Road Runner was slick and sculptural, like the movie Ice Age, but kept the bird’s legs a decidedly low-tech blur.

Cartoon Network renews Robot Chicken

Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated, a similar update of the groovy Hanna-Barbera sleuth series.

Tower Prep, a live-action mystery series about a rebellious teen who is forced to enroll in a secret boarding school for kids with supernatural gifts (think X-Men meets Harry Potter).

Firebreather, a special movie event that sounds like Teen Wolf, except the half-human high school kid’s dad is a dragon, thus giving him the titular very special ability.

Generator Rex, a new series from the creator of the successful Ben 10 franchise.

– The network also announced that it is developing a series of 15-minute blocks of animated shows designed to capture kids’ short attention spans.

RETURNING

– A second season of the breakout hit Destroy Build Destroy — its star, Andrew W.K., performed his hit “Party Hard” at the network’s announcement.

– More episodes of Dude, What Would Happen? — kind of like a mini-Mythbusters.

Watch full episodes of Cartoon Network programming in our Online Video Guide

– A second season of My Dad’s a Pro, an NFL-produced documentary series, this time starring 8-year-old Nikko Gonzalez, the son of Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez.

Anything catch your eye? Which Cartoon Network shows will you tune in to? (My favorite: the network’s hit surreal animated buddy comedy Adventure Time — check it out!)

Tiki Barber Accused of Traci Lynn Johnson Affair, Dumps Pregnant Wife Ginny Barber

April 7th, 2010

In his worst career move since retiring one year before the New York Giants won the Super Bowl, Today Show correspondent and former NFL star Tiki Barber has dumped his wife, Ginny, for former NBC intern Traci Lynn Johnson, reports say.

Tracy Lynn Johnson is just 23. They have two sons already and Ginny Barber is eight months pregnant with twins. A twin himself, you’d think Tiki would respect that. Then again, maybe Ronde Barber is really the one cheating. Think about it.

Ginny found out about the scandalous relationship late last year. Johnson, a model-thin bombshell, was photographed sitting next to Tiki at a Washington, D.C., screening of a documentary on Senegal that he hosted for the Travel Channel.

Sources believe Johnson also accompanied Tiki to Senegal for the filming late last year, when Ginny was three months pregnant. The affair is particularly stunning in light of Barber’s long-standing disdain for his philandering father.

Barber’s confidants were shocked at his conduct. One said:

“We were shocked to find out that he could walk out on his wife of 11 years while she’s pregnant with twins. He was with this girl in Senegal while Ginny was three months pregnant. And we believe she was also with him at the Olympics in Vancouver.”

Barber, who is believed to have relocated to an Upper West Side bachelor paid, released a statement yesterday in response to the Post story announcing the split:

“After 11 years of marriage, Ginny and I have decided to separate,” Barber said. “This decision was a painful one, but we are moving forward amicably and will continue to work together to raise our children with the love and dedication they have always known.”

Tiki had no additional comment. Ginny is a former fashion publicist and full-time mom to the couple’s two sons, A.J., 7, and Chason, 6. She also declined comment.

Man, first Tiger Woods. Then Jesse James. And now this. Now many more celebrity cheating scandals can we take? Too bad Tiki’s not following them to sex rehab.

Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush: It’s Over!

March 23rd, 2010

Perhaps we didn’t give Radar Online and its vague, anonymous sources enough credit, because it looks like Kim Kardashian-Reggie Bush breakup rumors are true.

Sources confirm to E! News that the reality star and her Super Bowl champion NFL star beau have called it quits for real. So what was the issue this time around?

The “increased fame and crazy busy schedule” of Kim have been an ongoing source of conflict for the twosome, who reunited last August after a quick breakup.

While Kim’s in South Beach shooting Season Two of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Reggie, who has always had trouble with the spotlight, has been out in NYC.

She was by his side as he won the championship with the New Orleans Saints this winter, and then vacationed in Costa Rica. But following that, things went south.

A Reggie Bush, Kim Kardashian Pic

IT’S OVER: So … how long until Kim and Reggie reunite again?

We may never learn exactly why, as the couple mutually decided to part ways a few days ago and have agreed not to discuss the split in public, says a source.

Of course, this being Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush, another reunion between the running back and world’s greatest body isn’t completely out of the question.

They do truly love each other and there’s no bad blood, say insiders close to the pair who say they’re even open to the idea of reconciling further down the road.

Just the same, “they need to be apart” right now. Sad news to report for us, but also good, we suppose, in the sense that it seems like it’s what they both wanted.

Besides, now there’s at least a 0.01 percent change Ray J can dump whatever skank he picked on his reality show and swoop in for another romp with Kim.

Dancing’s Cheryl Burke: I Had to Google Chad Ochocinco, Too

March 21st, 2010

Cheryl Burke

Googling her Dancing with the Stars partners is becoming Cheryl Burke’s pre-season ritual. Last season, she had to Google former House majority leader Tom DeLay. This time around, she turned to the search engine to brush up on Cincinnati Bengal wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. “Isn’t it funny? I didn’t know anything about him either,” she tells TVGuide.com. “It just shows you all I’ve been doing since I was a little kid is dancing.” So what was her reaction when she learned about the NFL star? Find out below.

TVGuide.com: How’s everything looking?
Cheryl Burke:
It’s all finally come together this past week. This has been the shortest time period [between the cast announcement and the premiere] that we’ve had since I’ve been on Dancing with the Stars. We only have three weeks to train. I was a little panicked because an extra week really makes a difference. I had to kind of rearrange everything. Normally, the first week is just basics, but since we only had three weeks, we went straight into the routine.

Meet the Season 10 Dancing cast

TVGuide.com: Do you know why they shortened the prep time? You’ve had more than a month to train in the past.
Burke:
When I was with Emmitt [Smith], we had six weeks. Sometimes it was five weeks. The last two seasons, we had four weeks. I think they don’t want all the celebs to come out and look really good. I think they want to see improvement for everyone every single week, which is what the show is about. If everyone starts out strong, the only place to go is down. I like that we have two weeks before the first elimination again. It gives everyone a chance to stay on an extra week and feel comfortable with the process. And the public has the chance to get to know each celebrity more.

TVGuide.com: A lot of people were surprised Chad’s doing the show. Were you?
Burke:
Honestly, I am not a sports girl. I know a couple of football players, but Chad, I’ve never really heard of, so I had to do some research. When I Googled him and saw some stuff, I was like, “OK, this guy has a lot of personality.” [Laughs] He’s a really great guy. I didn’t [tell him I didn't know who he was], but he kind of knew with all the interviews we’ve done.

Dancing’s Louis van Amstel: Niecy Nash and I “have so much chemistry”

TVGuide.com: You won with Emmitt. How do the two of them compare?
Burke:
[They're both] light on their feet. Chad’s a lot taller and leaner, so I’m allowed to do different things when it comes to his arms. Emmitt was a lot shorter and wider, so it was harder for him to use arms in the transitions, and I had to choreograph around that. With Chad, I don’t have to hide that. They’re both really hard workers. … That’s why I love working with athletes — they just know what it takes. There’s no drama. They know how to be coached. They can take direction and can go home, study and come back and do it.

TVGuide.com: Emmitt was retired when he did the show, but Chad’s still playing. Is there anything he can bring from football to dancing?
Burke: Actually, I think his coach wanted him to do the show because he wanted him to become more flexible in football. He got his coach’s blessing to do the show. So instead of coming in here with what he has already, he’s going to leave with something that will help him on the football field.

Dancing’s Derek Hough: Nicole Scherzinger is not a ringer

TVGuide.com: Is it true he doesn’t want you to compliment him?
Burke:
Yeah, he’s the first one who’s ever said that to me! The first day, you’re testing the waters, so I was like, “Good job.” And he’s like, “Don’t lie to me. Don’t tell me it’s good unless it’s really good.” I said, “OK, great. You’re my favorite guy!” [Laughs] … I think this whole process has really humbled him. When we first started, I think he thought he knew how to dance, but I don’t think he knew what he was getting into. Our cha-cha is very fast and it’s a different type of song that the show’s never really used before. He bowed down to me at one point last week and said, “Oh my God! I have so much respect for you guys. I didn’t realize how hard this was.”

TVGuide.com: Are any of your costumes going to involve a poncho and a sombrero?
Burke:
[Laughs] He definitely wants some crazy stuff when it comes to costumes. I’m all for it as long as it’s in a tasteful manner. He jokes around about having a see-through costume and blowing up the bottom part. I’m like, “I don’t think that’s going to happen. ABC’s not going to allow that!”

TVGuide.com: If you stay long enough, he’ll design your costumes.
Burke:
Yeah, I’m not worried about that at all. He talks a lot, but at the end of the day, he’s very respectful. He’s really sweet, really nice. He won’t talk back to the judges. He won’t do what people think he’s going to do. He knows what he’s there for and takes this very seriously, so if we last to that week, I’m sure they’ll be fine.

Dancing’s Anna Trebunskaya flying out the window?

TVGuide.com: You have your own fitness clothing line. Do you have new designs this year?
Burke:
We’re trying to recreate it little bit right now, make it more of a dance-wear that you can wear on the street as well. I’ve been wearing the line on the show for a while now, so I’m hoping to get new samples this season. I’m working on that and hopefully opening up another studio too.
